Picture
The DIY in the Community classes are extremely popular.  They are a great way for women who have little or no DIY knowledge or experience to gain confidence and have a go.

Get familiar with different tools - learn how to put that shelf up that's been waiting forever!
Get the satisfaction of completing projects and taking home finished articles!

Our courses are usually two and a quarter hours a week for five weeks and include:
  • a two week joinery project, making a small shelf unit
  • a two week tiling project
  • a week looking at the different ways of fixing things to walls

Some of the many skills are covered in this course include:
  • measuring
  • identifying different tools and equipment
  • using electric drills, planes, hammers, clamps, workbenches
  • cutting tiles with a variety of different tools
  • Sticking and grouting tiles

Wherever possible, these courses will have childcare provided and fees will be kept to an absolute minimum - often being free!
